About Cory Rylan

I'm a software engineer and speaker focused on building UI systems that work across teams, frameworks, and tools.

At NVIDIA, I work on NVIDIA Elements, an open-source design system for software used in AI/ML workflows, robotics, and autonomous vehicles. Built with Web Components, Elements provides reusable components, design tokens, themes, and patterns that teams can use across frameworks.

My work is about making those foundations practical to use: designing component APIs, improving accessibility, writing examples, and building tools that catch mistakes. I also work on the Elements CLI and MCP server. They give AI coding agents access to real component APIs, tokens, examples, and validation, so an agent can build with the same contracts as a human developer. I'm especially interested in turning recurring design system guidance into checks that tooling can enforce.

Before NVIDIA, I worked on the VMware Clarity design system and BlueprintUI. I have long been interested in the web platform and what Web Components, CSS, and native browser APIs make possible for reusable UI.

I write here about design systems, Web Components, accessibility, front-end architecture, and practical workflows for AI agents. You can explore my articles, see Elements, or find my work on GitHub.
